3 Steps To Gain Your Hard Disk Drive space.!

Microsoft Windows provide inbuilt tools like Disk Cleanup,Optimize and Defragment Drive and Scan for errors options to gain Hard Disk Drive spaces.

You can also use software instead of these inbuilt tools. Software like 'CCleaner' will clean all temporary files, browsing cache etc.Using 'Defraggler' will make make your drives error free and help running your PC smoothly. Both software are provided by "Piriform".You can also download it.

#1. Use of Disk Cleanup.

Disk Cleanup will wipe out all Temporary internet files, thumbnails,Windows error files etc.Disk Cleanup will appear by right clicking on your C drive > Properties > Disk Cleanup.

You can also use CCleaner to wipe out temp files as shown below to gain space.
Use these three commands in Command Prompt one by one i.e.
#1. prefetch
#2. temp
#3. %temp%
Select all the files and delete them. This will also keep your PC running faster.

#2. Using 'Optimize and Defragment Drive' or Defraggler(By Piriform).

GOTO 'C drive',right click select properties and select Tools in option pane. Here is the snapshot.First Analyze and then Optimize if notification shown by Windows,as I have. You can schedule your drives to optimize once in a week. But I used to do this twice a week.

#3. Scan for errors.

GOTO 'C drive' > right click Properties > in option pane select Tools.Below is a snapshot that will appear when you select 'Check' in Error Checking.

Using Defraggler you can do this by installing this software. Here is a snapshot.
